Is ZapYaw free?
Yes. ZapYaw is free to download and free to use — messaging, voice calls, video calls and group calls included. The app is supported by limited advertising. Calls and media use your internet connection, so normal mobile-data charges from your network operator can apply.
What is ZapYaw?
ZapYaw is a chat and calling app that combines text messaging, voice messages, photo sharing, group chats, and voice & video calls — including group calls — in one app. You sign up with your phone number and connect with people from your contacts. Incoming calls ring on your lock screen like a normal phone call, so you don't miss them.
Which phones does ZapYaw work on?
ZapYaw is available for Android on Google Play. An iPhone (iOS) version is planned.
How do I sign up?
Download ZapYaw from Google Play, enter your phone number, and confirm it with the SMS code we send you. That's it — no email address or password to remember. Your phone number is your account.
Are my messages private? Is ZapYaw encrypted?
Everything you send is encrypted in transit between your phone and ZapYaw's servers using HTTPS/TLS — the same protection online banking uses. ZapYaw does not use end-to-end encryption today; we prefer to tell you that plainly rather than imply otherwise. We never sell your personal data and never use the content of your messages to target ads. The full details are in our Privacy Policy.
How do group calls work?
Open a group and start a call — every member's phone rings, and people can join and leave while the call is running. Already on a call and want one more person? Use the in-call Add person button to ring them and bring them straight into the conversation.
Who can see my name and profile photo?
Your name and profile photo are shown to people you are connected with — for example when you have each other saved in contacts or already chat with each other. People with no connection to you don't get your profile details. You can also block anyone at any time from their profile or your settings.
Why does ZapYaw ask for access to my contacts?
So it can show you which of your contacts already use ZapYaw, and let you invite the rest. Privacy matters here: only phone numbers are sent to our servers for matching — never the names you saved. Contacts access is optional; without it you can still start a chat by entering a number directly.
Does ZapYaw show ads?
Yes, limited ads served by Google AdMob keep the app free. Ads are never based on the content of your messages or calls. The Privacy Policy explains exactly what ad partners receive.
What languages does ZapYaw support?
The app is available in English, Arabic, Hindi, and Urdu, and follows your phone's language setting automatically.
How do I delete my account?
In the app, open Settings → Delete account. Deletion is scheduled with a short grace period during which you can cancel by simply signing back in — a safety net against accidents. The delete account page has the full steps and what happens to your data.
